Every employee I've met so far is kind, funny, easy to get along with and makes it easier to work.

What I wish was different

Training in the new tills aswell as the old tills even though I had learnt a lot when I went on them.

Advice

Be kind and friendly back to colleagues and customers as they'd treat you the same. Especially the colleagues, they'll make you feel like you've been there a long time.

What I liked

I enjoyed the diversity of the job, Working during the pandemic required flexibility to work in differing departments due to changing demands. I had various roles including shelf replenishment, acting as a personal shopper, packing deliveries and instructing customers to follow Government safety guidelines.

What I wish was different

Advice

Having a confident and personable manner was vital working in a large team in differing departments, combined with frustrated and anxious customers.

What I liked

It was great to have something to do on a daily basis during the lockdown, and I could quite easily choose my working hours around my degree work.

What I wish was different

I would have liked potential to be kept in the books, but as a temporary worker for the Covid-19 1st lockdown, we were all booted after a few months.

Advice

Supermarket work is great for some money on the side, but make sure you're able to work within your head if you do. The tedium can be a little soul destroying otherwise, make sure to engage with customers, it makes it much more fun!
