Bank Health Care Assistant
June 2020 • Blackpool, England
What I liked
I loved building therapeutic relationships with the service users and making a difference to benefit their lives and experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time to spend with service users but sometimes the shift was understaffed so I would have to do many jobs sometimes and not have as much time with the service users.
Advice
To put all of your effort into the experience so that you can build therapeutic relationships with patients.

HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT
June - September 2019 • London, England
What I liked
- Rewarding
- Informative
- Helped to inform career path. `Experience strengthened my passion for paediatrics - I am much more likely to explore this as a potential speciality after graduation.
What I wish was different
- Spent more time in this department.
- Could have continued long term. Due to distance (London to Liverpool) - not really feasible.
- Made use of all the opportunities available to me i.e. option to attend courses in paediatric phlebotomy and palliative care.
Advice
If you have the option to take up a summer job which will inform your future career path - do it!
The experience will also be a great addition to your CV which might aid in securing a graduate position once you finish your degree.
