SEN Teaching Assistant

Coventry students/ Graduate Teaching Assistants Needed!!

 Are you a psychology student or graduate looking to gain experience in a Coventry special needs school or college working with students that have learning difficulties and need additional support?

Full or part time available- anything from 2 to 5 days per week between Monday and Friday (term time work only)

We require a strong and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work full time at a SEN schools in the Coventry area.

Teaching Assistant role is suitable For: NQT’s, training teachers, retired teachers/TA’s, those unable to work, people needing flexible working hours, those wanting to network/gain exposure with new schools.

School Details:

The schools within these areas are considerably different, covering several social and economic demographics and Ofsted grading.

Student/ Graduate Teaching Assistant Job Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be expected to take some responsibility for assisting managing classes in any given subject area you will be expected to effectively manage behaviour and to ensure pupil safety.

This role is ideal for Psychology students or graduates. 

Candidate Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant: To be selected to work as a  SEN Teaching Assistant should have classroom based experience. This could be TA, LSA, Support Assistant, Teacher etc. Resilience and patience are crucial as well as the ability to quickly learn and understand school procedures such as behaviour and safeguarding. Candidates will need to have presence in the classroom and the ability to demonstrate authority whilst remaining calm and approachable.

Additional Requirements:

Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.

A full, valid UK Driving License is advantageous.
