Internship Overview
We are offering a 11-week Digital Internship to help us strengthen our digital capabilities and support our journey toward smarter manufacturing practices. You will contribute to a focused project that drives value for our digital transformation.
Duration: 12th January 2026 – 27th March 2026
Location: Cirrus Research, Hunmanby, North Yorkshire (On Site)
Commitment: Full time 37.5 hrs per week – 8.30am to 4.30pm (30 min lunch break)
Rate of Pay - £12.50/hour
This internship will provide practical experience in applying digital tools and techniques within the manufacturing sector. Working with our IT manager on our new Sharepoint site project and development of our in-house bespoke software.

Project Responsibilities
As an intern, you will:
SharePoint Site Development
- Assist in the design, structure, and layout of the new SharePoint site.
- Create and organise document libraries, lists, and workflows to support internal processes.
- Help migrate existing documents and data into SharePoint with clear tagging and structure.
- Work with the IT Manager and external Sharepoint expert to develop user-friendly navigation, pages, and site features.
- Support testing and gather feedback from internal users to refine the SharePoint site.
In-House Software Development
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of bespoke internal software tools.
- Assist with writing, reviewing, or testing software code (depending on skill level).
- Document software features, changes, and user guidelines.
- Participate in troubleshooting, bug fixing, and feature improvement discussions.
Digital Transformation & Smart Manufacturing Support
- Analyse existing digital processes to identify potential improvements.
- Help implement small digital solutions or automation to support smarter manufacturing practices.
- Support data collection, reporting, and digital workflow enhancements.
General Responsibilities
- Work closely with the IT Manager to support ongoing project tasks.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and ideas during regular check-ins.
- Ensure project documentation is clear, accurate, and up to date.
- Follow internal IT/security policies and maintain confidentiality.
