Nursery Practitioner (Level 3)
Reports to: Nursery Manager / Room Leader
Location: (Harrow / Pinner / Borehamwood)
Working hours: Full-time

Role Purpose:
To support the delivery of high-quality care and early years education within a Montessori setting, ensuring children’s safety, well-being, learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Montessori principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment for children aged from (typically) birth to 5 years.
Act as a key-person for a small group of children: building strong relationships, observing and assessing their progress, and planning for their next steps.
Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities and experiences, aligned with EYFS and Montessori methodology.
Maintain the learning environment: prepare and organise resources, maintain tidiness and safety of rooms and equipment.
Ensure children’s individual needs (physical, emotional, social, cognitive) are met, promoting independence, curiosity and confidence.
Monitor children’s welfare and behaviour, ensuring safeguarding and child-protection procedures are followed at all times.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals to ensure continuity of care and education for children.
Contribute to setting policies, routines and practices (health & safety, hygiene, fire safety, food and nutrition) and ensure they are adhered to.
Attend staff meetings, supervision, training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge and understanding of EYFS, safeguarding and welfare requirements in early years.
Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting (ideally Montessori, but not strictly essential).
Excellent communication skills (with children, parents/carers and colleagues).
Team-player with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a genuine passion for early years education.
