Domiciliary Care Assistant (Experienced – Driving Licence Required)

Reports to: Domiciliary Care Coordinator / Registered Manager
Role Purpose:
To provide high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their own homes across the local community. The Domiciliary Care Assistant will support individuals with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and independence at all times.
This role involves travelling between clients’ homes, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required. Prior experience in domiciliary or community care is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high standards of personal care (washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence support).
Assist with mobility and safe transfers using appropriate equipment and techniques.
Support with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
Carry out light domestic duties, shopping, and assistance with household management.
Prompt or administer medication (following training and policies).
Record all care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality of client information.
Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well-being and report any concerns promptly.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
Comply with all safeguarding, infection control, health & safety, and CQC regulations.
Drive safely between client homes, managing time effectively to attend all scheduled visits.
Requirements:
Essential:
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Proven experience in domiciliary or community care (minimum 6–12 months preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of person-centred care principles.
Compassionate, reliable, and able to work independently.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
Right to work in the UK.
Health and Social Care qualification.
