SBP 7948 Student Activity Leader

 

Job Summary 

Experience a Summer like never before!  Experio Summer are now recruiting for our Residential International Summer School, for the Summer of 2026. You will help to plan, deliver and supervise on-site and off-site activities as part of our residential summer vacation course team, and strive to ensure that each student has a safe, enjoyable and beneficial experience during their stay.  

This role is part of the Student Business Partnership (SBP) scheme and offers full-time hours (6 days per week) between July-August 2026. You will be based at either Bishop’s Stortford College or Leighton Park School (Reading). Full board and accommodation will be provided for the duration of internship.  You will also have full use of Gym and Pool on site.

End Date: 19/8/26

 

Pay: £590 Per Week (Plus accrued holiday pay + full board and accommodation).  

 

 

Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities: 

You will help to plan, deliver and supervise on-site and off-site activities as part of our residential vacation course team, strive to ensure that each student has a safe, enjoyable and beneficial experience during their stay.  As part of the role, you are also expected to support group leaders in the management of students while on and off-site including house duties. This role in its nature requires energetic and enthusiastic people, and we guarantee you will experience a wonderful summer enjoying some fantastic destinations, meeting new people as well as being part of something very rewarding!  

 

Training and Support 

You will: 

  • Receive an induction and on-the-job training when you start. 
  • Have regular contact with group leaders who can support you. 
  • Be offered 1:1 support from the Internships Team.

About You (Person Specification) 

Essential  

  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality  
  • Excellent spoken English language skills  
  • Ability to work as part of a team and able to use own initiative   
  • A flexible, cooperative, and responsible attitude   
  • Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people  
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for equal opportunities and respect for race and diversity  

Desirable  

  • Previous experience of working with young people at a summer school/residential school programme is desirable but not essential.  
  • Local knowledge of cities, such as London, Cambridge & Oxford is desirable but not essential.  
  • Specific skills in areas such as sport, art, music & Drama would be a benefit within the setting.  
  • First aid certificate Desirable (Training will be given)  

 

Important Points to Consider  

  • Any gaps in employment/study will be enquired about & must be explained satisfactorily.  
  • You will provide the details of two recent & relevant referees who we will contact  
  • You will be required to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service check (DBS), & equivalent if living outside the UK

  • Full time Postgraduate students can work a maximum of 6 hours per week and no more than 180 hours per year, this includes those working already working as Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PTA). You may work more hours with written permission from your academic.
