Women & Girls Coaching Scheme

Burnley FC are delighted to launch their first ever Women’s Coaching Scheme, focused on inspiring women and young girls into a career in coaching!

WHY?

Research by UK Coaching revealed a decline in the percentage of female coaches from 44% in 2022 to 38% in 2024.

We want Burnley FC to lead in the development of female coaches, stopping this decline and providing role models for future generations of girls.

WHAT DOES THIS INCLUDE?

• Insight sessions where you will hear from a range of coaches from across the Club and Community, understanding their pathway into coaching and what makes a great coach.
• Work experience / shadowing opportunities.
• Mentorship – be mentored by our experienced coaches, building a network of people who are looking to push you further to achieve your coaching dreams.
• Qualifications – we will be looking to fund a number of qualifications that would set you up to complete a UEFA C, including:
  • Introduction to Coaching
  • Introduction to First Aid in Football
  • Safeguarding Children
  • EFAIF

WHO SHOULD TAKE PART?

Any woman or girl above the age of 16 who has a passion for coaching but doesn’t know where to start.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• A commitment to making the most out of this opportunity!
• You would need to dedicate 5 half days across the 25/26 season to attend insight sessions.
• Make the most out of the connections you will build across the Club.
• Make the most out of the connections you will build across the Club.
• Complete the funded qualifications in your own time.
• At the end, you would put together a presentation about your experience, what you did to make the most of it, and what you have learnt.
