Female Lead Support Worker (Team Leader) - Driver Essential

We have a fantastic opportunity at our CQC outstanding service in Margate, as we look for our next Team Leader! This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, Sense are offering £25,370 per annum.

For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

Our service is home to 4 very characterful individuals with very different personalities. We believe first and foremost that this is their home we just happen to work in it, and it should feel homely and comfortable. We are looking for someone with a can do attitude and a great problem solver able to coach members of the team.

You will also require to hold a full manual UK driving license to provide transport for individuals at the service.

Sense support our staff to gain skills and qualifications and experience – such a we take part annually in a Mentoring scheme with 11 other charities - this is addition to providing all staff with a great induction, and plenty of training.

This role in Margate might include:

  • Supporting individuals / groups / teams within the home, center and community.
  • Providing a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • Delivering services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.
  • Full job specification is attached below.

For this role in Margate you will require:

  • A full UK license and must be willing/able to drive our vehicles.
  • Experience of using British Sign Lanuage (BSL) or having a BSL or Makaton qualification is desirable.
  • You will need to be a good role model.
  • Experience of mentoring and inducting staff, supporting staff through supervisions and creating development plans.
  • Previous experience as a support worker or team leader in a similar setting – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Team Leader.
