German speaking Graduate Case Handler


Are you fluent in German and have a keen interest in the insurance sector and are ready to make an impact, we want to hear from you! Remember that ship getting stuck in the Suez Canal in 2021? Imagine being part of the team that helps sort out those kinds of issues! This specialist insurance company is looking for someone just like you to join as a Graduate Claims Handler. This is a fantastic chance to dive into the nitty-gritty of commercial dispute resolution. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be right there in the action, supporting seasoned insurance specialists as they work through claims from start to finish. This means:
 

  • Building Relationships: Chatting with lawyers, supply chain & logistics companies, and more.
  • Guiding Clients: Offering advice and support.
  • Organising and Negotiating: Keeping everything running smoothly and negotiating settlements.
  • Documenting: Preparing and handling all necessary paperwork and correspondence.

On a day to day:
 

  • Processing new claim notifications and investigating cases (like Salvage, Recovery, and General).
  • Reviewing and assessing cases to provide guidance (in both English and German)
  • Collecting and organising documents for submission to various parties.
  • Monitoring the progress of cases and legal deadlines.
  • Negotiating settlements based on legal and commercial terms.
  • Ensuring top-notch service to our clients.
  • Helping with marketing efforts for the department and company.
  • Keeping our systems updated in a 'paper-light' environment.
  • Building strong working relationships with industry professionals.

What we’re looking for:
 

  • A graduate with an undergraduate degree or equivalent, Law degree will be beneficial but not essential.
  • Fluent written, reading and spoken German
  • Someone who’s organised and good at managing their time.
  • A persuasive communicator, both in writing and speaking.
  • A negotiator who can think on their feet.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A team player who can also work independently.
  • Friendly and helpful!
