Overview

 

As a Project Manager in our Technology Dept, you will lead and manage projects through their full lifecycle, taking overall responsibility for their success. You will be managing a variety of Technology based projects covering Software Development, Connectivity, Systems, Security, Network Expansion, Hosting and Cloud solutions.

 

It’s key that you have experience managing and delivering Technology projects within a similar environment along with the Business readiness wrap to support the delivery. The ability to manage relationships, ensuring that there is strong and frequent communication between the customer and the project team is essential. You will also ensure that the agreed deployment schedule is met and that acceptance and handover into an operational environment is successful. You will need to demonstrate leadership and team building skills and be able to balance these with the structure and discipline needed to manage and control project risks.

 

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of delivering successful projects in the Telecoms/IT industry and have a working knowledge of PRINCE2 or PMP methodologies and importantly can apply these in full E2E approach of Architect, Design, Build, Operate.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage a range of Technology projects across the Division and into the Business
  • Manage key relationships during project delivery and up to the final handover
  • Produce and maintain project documentation in line with our project processes and PMO governance
  • Produce presentations to communicate project goals to stakeholders
  • Collate project plans, work packages and presentations
  • Manage and track project budgets
  • Prepare and plan workshops
  • Define and document all phases of the project including tasks, escalation paths, milestones and acceptance criteria
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that risks, issues and changes are documented and managed effectively
  • Plan, prioritise, resource and lead continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide regular progress reports to key stakeholders
  • Negotiate with line managers to obtain project resources
  • Carry out project reviews and share the findings with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain strong working relationships with managers and stakeholders at all levels in the business

 

Skills & experience

 

  • Project Manager/Delivery Manager with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or Equivalent
  • MS Project or equivalent planning tools
  • Continuous improvement tools, techniques (Six Sigma)
  • Recent experience as a Project or Delivery Manager in a Telecoms / IT environment
  • Demonstrable success in delivering technology driven projects
  • Demonstrable success of business change projects ( i.e sales propositions, provisioning, system configurations are all part of the delivery )
  • Working familiarity with internet products and IT technologies
  • Excellent communication skills with an intuitive understanding of how best to share knowledge, gain buy-in and influence decision making
  • Vendor Management including RFI/RFP for technology products/services
  • Excellent organisational skills, balancing demands and working to tight deadlines.
  • Full drivers licence essential
