Graduate Product Development Technician

As part of our continual expansion we would like to recruit a current graduate to the post of Product Development Technician, with the successful applicant expected to start during this November. 

Job Description

Quantum Science Ltd (QS), a thriving and expanding business, is seeking to grow its team by hiring a Product Development Technician. 

This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals aiming to launch their career in the advanced materials sector. 

The chosen candidate will receive comprehensive training and professional development, playing a crucial role in the analytical assessment of semiconducting materials for optoelectronic applications at QS. 

Responsibilities include conducting standard tests on materials developed by Quantum Science Ltd, adhering strictly to SOPs and health & safety requirement, and supporting the product development team in meeting rigorous industry quality benchmarks.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proficient in handling chemicals following rigorous health and safety protocols. 
  • Plan and execute methodical analytical measurements for quantum dots and materials to drive the product advancement. 
  • Analyse collected data and present findings using prescribed templates. 
  • Make SOPs and reports.
  • Rapidly acquires new knowledge and excels as a collaborative team member. 
  • Proficient in computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Degree or BTEC in Chemistry (or similar) 
  • Proven industrial experience in a laboratory environment is advantageous
  • Recent Chemistry graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply
  • Available with short or immediate notice is advantageous
  • Confident with a practical hands-on approach in the lab and excellent self-starter as well as a dedicated team member.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to carry out practical lab-based work.
  • Enthusiastic about Science.
