Senior Creative Copywriter - Native English

We are seeking a versatile Senior Creative Copywriter who is a native English speaker with a US English background. 

The ideal candidate should have experience with online and offline campaigns and work closely with Art Directors and Strategists. You will be involved in conceptualizing and proposing bold ideas for New Business pitches and a variety of clients such us SKYN, the #1 non-latex condoms brand in the US, or Galderma, the world's largest independent dermatology company, to support their global communication across all online and offline channels.

In this role, you will craft creative concepts and write compelling copy across digital, print, social media, and broadcast platforms, focusing on messaging that aligns with clients' brand voices and resonates with target audiences.

Additionally, you will serve as the right-hand to our Creative Director, who is based in New York, acting as her eyes on the ground when she is unable to be present. In her absence, you will also be responsible for guiding the team and ensuring that the creative vision is maintained and executed to the highest standards.

This position requires working from our HQ located in Barcelona. We'll take care of the visa process to simplify your move to Barcelona. You can focus on preparing for your new life in this vibrant city while we handle the necessary paperwork.

 Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Copywriting:

  • Interpret creative briefs to create and present concepts for client campaigns and new business pitches that meet strategic and business goals
  • Work closely with strategy and account teams to provide creative and strategic solutions for current client briefs and new business.
  • Generate fresh, insightful ideas that build brand presence and maintain a cohesive voice across all channels
  • Develop a unique brand Tone of Voice (TOV) that extends across all platforms, from post copy to longer-form storytelling.
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of online and offline campaign assets, ensuring they are on brief, to spec, and on brand.
  • Be strategic in creating content from existing assets as well as developing new content from scratch.
  • Attend to video shoots overseeing the storytelling and ensuring alignment with the overall creative vision.

 

Project Management:

  • Ensure ideas are executable within budget and timeframe
  • Manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively  while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure vision and objectives are clearly communicated
  • Ensure all assets are on brief, on brand, and aligned with channel specifics, including UI and cross-browser compatibility
  • Understand and coordinate all technical specifications supplied by media agencies.

 

Leadership:

  • Act as the Creative Director’s right-hand and oversee the team in her absence.
  • Guide and mentor the creative team ensuring that the creative vision is maintained and executed to the highest standards.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions, client meetings, and pitches, advocating for creative concepts.

 

Client Interaction:

  • Be client-facing with strong presentation and advocacy skills, contributing to the long-term vision of the brand both internally and with the client
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating concepts and rationale
  • Defend the creative ideas and proposals, always emphasizing how they align with client expectations and meet strategic business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed their expectations

 

Industry Awareness:

  • Stay abreast of industry and technology trends, integrating new techniques and tools into the creative process to enhance the quality of work
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current trend, particularly in the US, including entertainment, influencers, broader cultural trends, as well as fashion, beauty, cosmetics, and skincare 
  • Stay up-to-date with these areas to ensure that creative concepts are relevant and impactful.

 

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Copywriter in an advertising agency or a similar environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing successfully launched client projects and concepts across broadcast work, digital, social media, and other platforms.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Creative Excellence:: An outstanding eye for great storytelling and a passion for writing and delivering creative work. Ability to proactively suggest improvements to briefs, develop and present conceptual work, and deliver high-complexity briefs in collaboration with an Art Director (both reporting to the Creative Director).
  • Strategic Vision: A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute concepts that align with business objectives. Proficiency in crafting and maintaining a cohesive Brand Tone of Voice (TOV) across all platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with client goals. Ability to proactively suggest improvements to briefs and actively contribute to the long-term vision of the brand and client success.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts and feedback convincingly, and strong verbal communication skills to speak effectively with internal teams and clients.US client management experience.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to guide and inspire the creative team to achieve outstanding results.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, deliver and present conceptual work and high complexity briefs while working in partnership with a Senior Creative Copywriter (both reporting to the Creative Director), and possess strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough familiarity with current mainstream culture, particularly in the US, including entertainment, influencers, and trends, as well as staying up-to-date with fashion, beauty, cosmetics, and skincare trends
  • Technical Skills: Good knowledge of all major digital channels and social media platforms, including familiarity with their technical specifications

• Native English with a US English background (mandatory)
