INTERIOR TEXTILES & MARKETING DESIGNER
COMPANY: We are recruiting for a well-known INTERIOR TEXTILES BRAND
INTERVIEW DATES: First interviews online ASAP and if successful 2nd interviews will take place in Chorley or near your home ASAP. The name of the company recruiting will be given if you are successful at first interview stage and our client confirms they wish to meet you.
START DATE: ASAP
Qualifications Required: BA Hons Degree in Textile Design or Surface Pattern 2:1 or above
Experience: Ideally 3 years+ design experience – however, a new graduate will be considered if you have a satisfactory portfolio and excellent communication skills – full training will be given.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with an hour for lunch (but we will consider a part time or school hours role)
Holidays: 20 days plus Bank Holidays
Salary: Up to £30k per annum dependent on experience (reviewed after 6 months)
Key Responsibilities
Researching and communicating current and future design and colour trends. Creating fabulous trend / colour boards.
Working with your design manager to source new fabrics from mills around the world.
Assist with developing collections – new and renewed – working with colour, design and plains to create beautiful collections.
Assist with photographers and graphic designers to create fabulous room sets and graphic layouts to promote the collections.
Designing and sending out email promotions, social media marketing on a daily or weekly basis as required.
Working with the Sales Director to arrange, design and organise exhibitions as required.
Managing and organising the studio space. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail is imperative
Communication with mills / suppliers' reference developments of collections by email and telephone – so excellent English and communication skills are necessary.
Designing artwork- hand painting/drawing in a variety of styles
Working to a design brief- being able to work in different styles e.g. floral, textures, geometrics. Adapting their own handwriting to different styles and projects.
Computer work on photoshop/ Illustrator interpreting hand drawn designs in CAD
Adapting purchased designs and putting into repeat
Contributing to team meetings/ reviews/ sales meetings
General admin, chasing samples, archive filing etc.
Note this is an office-based job – but 1 or 2 days hybrid working from home a week is possible.
