About the Role:

We have an opening in the NPD team at our site in Carlisle which would be ideal for a recent graduate, or somebody looking for an entry-level role in food manufacturing.

Our site in Carlisle specialises in the production of a wide range of chilled meals for major retailers. It’s a busy, fast-paced environment and you’d be joining a market leading business offering plenty of opportunities for development and progression.

We’re currently looking for two Product Technologists in a varied role where you’ll gain exposure to and learn about all elements of product development. Working as part of a supportive team, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the team to ensure products are developed and launched on time and in line with customers’ requirements.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business (operations, technical, commercial) and our customers’ developers and technologists to deliver the NPD agenda.
• Organising and implementing factory trials, capturing and compiling data, and supporting with the generation of packaging formats and artwork details.
• Ensuring compliance with all food safety standards.
• Developing your knowledge and understanding of the site’s manufacturing capabilities and processes and identifying areas for improvement.

About You:

• A recent graduate in Food Science or similar, ideally with prior food manufacturing experience although this is not essential.
• Experience or good understanding of product research and development.
• Proactive and keen to learn.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, proficient using MS Office.
