Paediatric Audiologist

We are looking for an Audiologist to join our team paediatric department within Havering Children's Community Services, NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a community based department with two sites Harold Wood Clinic, Havering and Child and Family Centre in Barking. 

We offer a full range of services including Hearing Aid Fittings, Tinnitus support and balance testing for children. 

Main duties of the job

The service covers Havering, Barking and Dagenham. The successful applicant would work across both sites.

We are looking for a full time post but flexible working patterns will be taken into consideration.

The successful candidate will be required undertaking hearing assessments for children age over 3 years old. This will require skills in Play Audiometry and objective testing. Experience is desirable but will also be provided training to an audiologist with adult audiology experience that has not done Play Audiometry before.

The successful candidate will also be required to undertake repairs on Phonak and Oticon hearing aids. Experience in this areas would be beneficial but is not essential as training can be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity for any current adult audiologist to develop and expand their skills or for a paediatric audiologist looking to expand their skills in a new team. . 

We book patients on the patient management system called RIO and test hearing using the Interacoustics Affinity Compact.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex.

Essential criteria include:

  • BSc (Hons) in Audiology or equivalent
  • Professional registration with RCCP
  • Enthusiasm for paediatric audiology

The successful candidate will be provided training and support to undertaking hearing assessments for children, hearing aid repairs and reviews.

  • CPD in paediatric audiology
