Marketing Assistant

Objective of position: (Why does this job exist? What is the Major Objective or Mission?)

Ever wondered what ‘indulgence’ tastes like? Or ‘health’? Or ’nostalgia’? 

Symrise are one of the worlds’ leading flavour & fragrance houses, meaning that we blend both science and consumer research to create tastes & scents that people will remember, in the products they love. 

Working directly with the Marketing team, your role will be to support the execution of the overall marketing activity of our ‘Savoury Food’ business by researching market data, providing insights, developing ideas and creating material to better promote our strengths and key differentiators to our customers. You will be seeking to uncover the tastes of the future for some of the biggest food brands across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, with a specific focus on both savory snacks, and culinary products, such as processed meat, soups and sauces.  

 

Major tasks/Responsibilities 

Support the general marketing activity of the Food Savory Cluster EAME by learning how to:

  • Utilise research and analysis to detect upcoming trends and key market drivers that could shape the future of food across Europe, Africa and the Middle East
  • Analyse market & customers’ product portfolios to identify opportunities
  • Evaluate real consumer data to draw conclusions
  • Write value propositions to better sell the tools & solutions offered by Symrise
  • Create presentations for both customer projects and the launch of product collections
  • Contribute to internal and external fair activities
  • Support content creation for an internal and external communications
  • Managing databases of flavours for key customers, including adding new trend information and selecting recommended flavours based on those trends

 

Performance indicators 

  • Delivery of customer brief support
  • Identification of major market trends
  • Successful support of the Marketing Manager

 

Financial Tasks

  • Not P&L responsible

Maintain ethical behaviour with customers and all third parties.

 

Required Profile: (Education Required -please give alternatives if possible)

The successful candidate will ideally be looking for an industry placement, graduates welcome to apply. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Interest and curiosity for food
  • International awareness
  • Good research and analytical skills
  • Computer literate – word, excel, power point
  • High aptitude for learning quickly, adaptability, flexibility
  • Time management
  • Presentation skills

  • 1 year placement starting July 2024
