Therapeutic youth Support Worker

The children need:-

Safe adults that have a genuine interest in changing and enriching the lives of young people and want to make a difference.

Individuals that are fun, creative, think outside of the box and that are unique. We welcome people from different backgrounds that can bring a variation of life skills to the children in our care.

Adults that are good role models and intend to be a long-lasting fixture in the lives of children that have experienced attachment issues due to multiple adults leaving their lives.

People to support the children with day to day living and running a household. (Supporting educational needs, health appointments, cooking, cleaning, taking out into the community to attend clubs and hobbies, key work)

Applicant's that are over 21 with a manual driving licence and access to a car. Able to work a balanced shift pattern to include evenings and weekends. One sleep-in per week required for full time staff, one sleep in every two weeks for part time staff.

What separates us from the rest?

  • Care Focus is a highly staffed and highly supportive environment – We are staffed on a 1:1 basis, so for every child (maximum of four), there is an adult responsible for them to ensure that they are given the attention that they need. In addition to this, due to there being plenty of adults present in the home, a fun a supportive and safe environment is created.
  • Large homes in rural locations – Each of our homes are five bedroomed properties set in the countryside to allow the young people to have space from the busy and often chaotic communities that they have come from to allow the healing process.
  • Direct therapeutic work with children – We aim to provide all children with external therapy, by two of our vastly experienced therapists that use beautiful spaces to conduct their sessions. All staff are trauma informed, this also includes bespoke therapeutic training. This also includes bespoke therapeutic training for all staff delivered internally by vastly experienced leaders that have over 30 years’ experience in therapeutic childcare between them.
  • Bespoke recording systems – Our bespoke online system is easy to use, enabling the administrative side of the role to be quick and efficient, to enable you to spend more quality time with the children
  • A hands-on and supportive senior management team – All of the leaders within Care Focus have started their career as a Therapeutic Youth Worker. They know the job and have done it for many years. They are actively involved in the running of the homes and have relationships with the staff team and children.
  • Extensive training – Our mix of online and face to face training over extensive areas of the role ensure that you are well informed to manage the demands of the role. An induction period of 1 week ensures that essential training is completed whilst also “buddying up” with an experienced colleague to learn on the job.

We offer:-

  • Salary - Entry level (No experience necessary - we will train you) £25,465.00pa.
  • Additional sleep-in fee of £40 (if doing over 1 sleep in per week)
  • Sleep in enhancement of £20 if you sleep in onto a day off
  • Qualifications:- Level 3 Diploma (All new staff start undertaking this qualification after 3 months employment. Paid for by Care Focus).
  • A career Pathway (All of our Managers started as Therapeutic Youth Workers)

Part-time applicants must be able to offer three shifts per week - only evening and weekend shifts available.
