About the Role:
Join our prestigious team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute as a Senior Cloud Administrator and help us harness the power of the cloud by administering and developing for a Google Cloud Platform - based Trusted Research Environment (TRE): https://github.com/wsi-hgi-tre.
This dynamic role offers a mix of independent work and team collaboration, directly engaging with scientific researchers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of our TRE. As you progress, you will contribute code to our automation toolkit, which helps us stay on top of both routine and large operational tasks.
You will be responsible for:
To maintain and administer our cloud-based environments, in particular, the Trusted Research Environment (TRE); ensure it remains secure; respond to the needs of end-users in a timely and professional manner.

Essential Skills:
Knowledge of Cloud environments (GCP, AWS or OpenStack)
Knowledge of virtualization/containerisation technologies (Docker, Singularity)
Familiarity with provisioning frameworks (Terraform, Ansible)
Familiarity with the Linux command line (Bash, Make)
Additional information:
Salary: £44,890 - £53,330 (dependent on skills and experience)
Contract: Fixed, 2 years
