Teaching Assistant/Tutor - Economics

Economics Tutor – Imperial Global MBA

An exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher of economics to join the teaching team in Imperial’s growing business school. The role is flexible, with opportunities to work from home and asynchronously, and initially is paid on an hourly basis, with potential to progress to a (part time) permanent teaching fellow role.

The primary role is for an instructor within Imperial’s top ranked Global online MBA (GMBA) Programme. The tutor will work closely with the Managerial Economics Module Leader to ensure successful delivery of the module to an international cohort of mid-career professionals. The tutor is responsible for facilitating learning via the Imperial on-line “hub”, including providing formative feedback and responding to student queries. The tutor will also deliver a number of live tutorials via Zoom. The Managerial Economics module runs from September – December, however there may be preparation work and marking outside of these dates.  There is potential, depending on the candidate’s availability and skills, to take on additional teaching roles, either on the GMBA or other Imperial College Business School programmes.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree or higher in Economics and will have strong teaching skills and an interest in further developing their teaching practice. Knowledge of subject matter, at level of teaching fellow or early career assistant professor and/or relevant industry experience is essential. An ability to work independently and in a self-motivated way, as well as good organisational skills will be key to success in the role.
