Operator Maintainer
Job Purpose:
This role is key to the overall success of our operation. Working as a key member of the operations team, operator maintainers are responsible for controlling the machinery whilst prioritising health, safety and efficiency under the guidance and instructions from team leaders.
Role duties:
- To carry out rounds of the plant and equipment and report all defects.
- To train as the Assistant Team Leader and carry out their duties in their absence.
- Be authorised to accept Permits to Work.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical isolations under the direction of the Team Leader.
- Carry out checks of safety equipment.
- Carry out maintenance and repair work in accordance with risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure a neat and orderly work area to promote a safe work environment.
- Maintain proper storage area for all equipment and products.
- Maintain and wear statutory PPE issued and report defects to the site management team as required.
- Review and suggest improvements to standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and skills (Evidenced from CV):
- Previous operations experience in a steam or gas plant
- A strong appreciation and understanding of a safe working environment, hazard awareness and a compliant attitude
- Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of Permit to Work and Lock Out Tag Out systems
- Carried out mechanical/electrical maintenance
