Transcriber/Translator (Casual)
Do you want flexible jobs that can be done in the comfort of your own home?
TauRho Transcribes are recruiting transcribers and translators to join our dedicated team. We are a refreshing student services platform set up by ex-students that provide optional roles in both streams. You can take on as much or as little work as suits to fit in with your busy student schedules.
We’re looking to onboard 50 transcribers and 100 translators on a freelance basis. There will be a short testing process which will takes roughly an hour to complete. We cover a variety of verticals including medical, legal and market research transcription and translation.
We recommend a minimum typing speed of 50WPM to achieve £12-15 an hour for transcribers. If you can type at 75+ WPM, this is more like £15+ per hour. For translators, compensation generally starts from around £20 per hour.

Please include your language combinations in your response also, or if you are offering English transcription, you should have either an A or above in English Language GCSE (or equivalent), or a 2.1 in an essay based degree.
For translators, we require C1 or above proficiency (or equivalent), preferably near-native level. We are currently hiring for any and all language combinations, however the most common markets we work in are German, Italian, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Korean & Arabic.
We are expanding quite quickly into subtitling & textual translation, so any experience with relevant software, CAT Tools, transcreation, localisation or copy-writing is most welcome!

- For transcribing roles, we are looking for confident typists with proficient English language skills (A or A* at GCSE + A in essay-based subject at A-Level).
- For translating roles, we are looking for confident typists with a near-native fluency in your chosen languages.
