IT Instructor
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop course materials, including syllabi, lectures, and assessments in various IT subjects such as programming, network security, database management, and software development.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons using a range of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Conduct practical lab sessions that provide hands-on experience with IT tools and software.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
- Stay current with the latest technology trends and incorporate relevant advancements into the curriculum.
- Offer office hours and academic support to students, guiding them through complex technical concepts and applications.
- Collaborate with academic colleagues on curriculum planning, department initiatives, and continuous improvement processes.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and IT knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Ensure that teaching methods and materials comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
- Assist in maintaining lab equipment and software, ensuring a functional and safe learning environment.
- Mentor students on career paths in IT and provide insights into the tech industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications in IT (such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience as an IT educator or industry experience in a relevant IT role.
- Strong foundation in programming languages, network architecture, database management, and/or cybersecurity.
- Effective communication skills and proficiency in explaining complex technical concepts.
- Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective curriculum and assessment methodologies.
- Commitment to fostering a positive educational environment and supporting student success.
