Graphic Design Intern

Role Summary

  • Responsibilities: You will be involved in a wide range of creative projects for our clients within the healthcare sector, from the initial concept development to full production, allowing for real autonomy and creativity
  • Salary: A monthly stipend of £1,950

About the Role

This position is ideal for Graphic Design students or recent graduates who are looking to gain an insight into life in an agency or commercial environment. The internship will provide a valuable opportunity to get hands-on design experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

As a Graphic Design Intern at Costello Medical, you will support with a wide range of design projects, from creating scientific posters to developing materials for exhibitions and events, as well as marketing content. We are therefore looking for talented individuals with a great understanding of aesthetics and a meticulous attention to detail.

This role will involve close collaboration with all members of our established Creative team, who will provide full training on the technical aspects of the role. A high level of organisation and flexibility is essential as you will be working on multiple projects at a time.

 

Career Prospects After the Internship

As a Graphic Design Intern in the Creative team, you will have the option to select an internship length of either 3 or 6 months, enabling you to develop your skills whilst learning from experienced members of the team. Additionally, there is the opportunity for strong candidates to apply for the Graphic Designer role and join our expanding team on a permanent basis. About You

This internship is suited to recent graduates as well as current students who are permitted to complete full time internships either during the holidays or via a placement as a part of their degree. We also welcome applications from those looking to start their career in graphic design.

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • A degree level or higher qualification in a design-related discipline (minimum or expected 2.1), in addition to a highly innovative portfolio. We welcome applications from candidates in their second year of study or later, and with a diverse range of specialisms, including but not limited to; Graphic Design, Digital Design, Graphic Communication Design, Marketing, Digital Communications
  • Excellent technical skills in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, as well as a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in the generation and execution of creative concepts
  • A problem solving mindset with the ability to think outside of the box
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as working collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines

Although no previous experience in the scientific industry is required, an interest in applying graphic design to the healthcare sector would be an advantage.

The Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process includes a telephone interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team, followed by an assessment for you to complete in your own time. If successful, you will be invited to an interview, which includes a portfolio review, with senior members of the Creative team. Our standard recruitment process typically lasts around 2 to 4 weeks, however this can be adapted if necessary.
