Design Internship - Wise

About the programme

In 2023, we founded a Design Interns programme and we're delighted to welcome new talent to our award-winning team again.

We are looking for eight rising stars to join our Design team for a ten week paid internship programme. Design at Wise is a multidisciplinary team and we sometimes call it capital 'D' Design. While our craft is varied, human-centered design and design thinking unite us.

About you

You have:

  • The ability to contextualize and build a narrative around your work
  • Analytical, assessment and problem solving skills
  • An open attitude to feedback and willingness to learn
  • Foundational knowledge of the design discipline you are applying for (we don't expect you to know everything, but you need to have enough skill to navigate the organisation and work)

You are:

  • You are graduating in 2024 or after from a Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Able to start a 10 week internship from the 24th of June 2024 until the 30th of August 2024
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom

Your mission

You'll be part of Wise's global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system - to make money without borders the new norm. Because people without borders need money without borders.

You'll be matched with a Wise sponsor in Design, collaborating with other Wisers and fellow interns on cross-functional projects. We plot our moves every quarter, and your mission will be mapped out with your sponsor. You'll have plenty of room to help define your scope.

  • You'll be connecting with your sponsor, fellow interns, and the broader design community to inject fresh creative thinking into the business

Content Design

Content designers at Wise work in partnership with product designers and researchers to design useful, usable, delightful, and accessible content. As a content designer, your responsibility is to make sure we give users the right information, at the right time, in a way they expect. And that content throughout the Wise experience - from entire journeys down to button labels - is clear, inclusive, and on brand.

We looking for the following experience:

  • You've got a selection of work that shows how you've designed clear, accessible and inclusive content to solve a problem - this could be UX writing or long-form content. This showcases how you approached the problem, your thought process, any learnings, and the impact you made (if applicable).
  • You're familiar with style, vocabulary and tone of voice guidelines. You know when to ramp it up or tone it down. You might have a case study to demonstrate this.
  • You think big and think small - you've got a keen eye for detail but always consider the big picture user journeys and how your words impact them.
  • You know the importance of asking the right questions and using data and research to get down to the real problems.

Heads up - this is a UX-writing focused role, so won't be suitable if you're looking for experience in creative copywriting or marketing.

Salary (annual)
28,000 - 28,000 GBP
